Frequently asked questions
For oxygen hyperbaria, a minimum of 5 sessions in the hyperbaric chamber is recommended to experience the first significant effects. The frequency of oxygen therapy should be no less than twice a week, which is also related to stem cell levels, which gradually decrease after about 4 days. It should be remembered that the number of sessions in the hyperbaric chamber is a very individual matter. Usually, oxygen therapy patients who see the positive effects of hyperbaria, extend the treatment with further sessions in the hyperbaric chambers. The OxyBed studio in Gdańsk offers packages of 5-10-15-20 sessions. After purchasing a pass, the mobilisation of the benefits of oxygen therapy increases.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be successfully applied at any stage of our lives. Oxygen therapy supports our body in many processes. The use of oxygen therapy in children with autism clearly improves their mental condition. Young people wishing to improve their performance in sports using hyperbaric chambers can achieve this effect more quickly. Seniors and people suffering from illnesses will help their body’s repair processes through the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The spectrum of applications of hyperbaric chambers is very wide and there are no age limits for people who want to benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The OxyBed hyperbaric studio in Gdańsk is a place where people of all ages can enjoy the benefits of oxygen therapy.
In our hyperbaric chamber we use a pressure of 1.3 ATA and 96% oxygen concentration. Using oxygen therapy does not create complications and the only side effects may be headaches and fatigue after the first sometimes second session. The situation is different with standard hyperbaric chambers, where the pressure exceeds 2 ATA. These are used for patients with, for example, carbon monoxide poisoning, severe burns and hard-to-heal deep wounds. This is the position of the European Society for Hyperbaric Medicine. The OxyBed hyperbaric chambers in Gdansk Wrzeszcz provide safe oxygen therapy.
Sessions in our gentle hyperbaric capsule are very safe and non-invasive. The pressure we use in our capsule is 1.3 ATA. This is 300 Kpa higher than the pressure we live in every day. The oxygen supplied to the capsule is produced by a concentrator.
The concentrator is a safe device that generates almost pure oxygen from atmospheric air, using nitrogen filtration.
Complications after a session in a hyperbaric chamber are very rare. They most often occur when we breathe 100% oxygen at pressures of 2 ATA and above.
The conditions in our hyperbaric capsule are completely safe and, as the pressure is relatively low, there is no possibility of the oxygen in these conditions becoming toxic.
